Carnival Jubilee: A Practical Ship Guide
Explore Carnival Jubilee’s six zones, BOLT roller coaster, family activities, dining, cabins, and practical advice for sailing from Galveston.

Updated July 18, 2026.
Carnival Jubilee is Carnival’s newest purpose-built ship and the Texas member of its Excel class. Sailing from Galveston, it combines Carnival’s casual personality with six themed zones, large family facilities, varied dining, and BOLT, a motorcycle-style roller coaster on the upper deck.
What Makes Jubilee Distinct?
Two zones set Jubilee apart from its sisters. Currents uses screens, lighting, and ocean imagery to create an undersea atmosphere, while The Shores takes inspiration from seaside piers and beach towns. Grand Central forms the entertainment-focused atrium, and The Ultimate Playground gathers BOLT, water features, and outdoor recreation.
Dining, Entertainment, and Cabins
Emeril’s Bistro 717 joins Carnival favorites such as Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Cucina del Capitano, and Bonsai Sushi. Some venues are included and others cost extra, so review the current dining list before sailing. Entertainment includes comedy, live music, Family Feud Live, Playlist Productions, and shows using Grand Central’s multi-deck screens.
Cabins range from interiors through balconies and suites. Families should consider connecting rooms and proximity to youth spaces; light sleepers should avoid selecting a cabin solely because it sits near nightlife or the atrium.
Who Should Book Jubilee?
Jubilee is ideal for Texas-based families, multigenerational groups, and social travelers who want a lively ship without formal expectations. It is less suited to guests seeking boutique scale, quiet evenings, or understated décor.
Ben’s Honest Take
The Galveston homeport can be more important than small differences between Excel sisters. Jubilee delivers an easygoing, activity-rich trip, but its size makes cabin location and advance dining research worthwhile.
