Celebrity Ascent: A Practical Ship Guide
Plan a Celebrity Ascent cruise with guidance about dining, rooftop spaces, Infinite Veranda cabins, AquaClass, The Retreat, and ideal travelers.

Updated July 18, 2026.
Celebrity Ascent is the fourth Edge-series ship, offering 32 restaurants, bars, and lounges in a contemporary premium setting. Its atmosphere is sophisticated but social, with food, design, live entertainment, and ocean-facing relaxation taking priority over family thrill attractions.
Ascent’s Best Spaces
The multi-level Sunset Bar and Rooftop Garden create appealing outdoor evenings, including cantilevered pools overlooking the ship’s edge. The Magic Carpet moves along the starboard side to support different functions, while Eden and the Grand Plaza provide dramatic indoor gathering places.
Dining and Accommodations
Dining includes four complimentary main restaurants plus specialty venues such as Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud. The broad choice is a strength, though a specialty-heavy plan raises the total cost.
Accommodations include Infinite Verandas, AquaClass rooms with wellness-related benefits, and suites within The Retreat. Retreat guests receive a private restaurant, lounge, and sundeck. Infinite Verandas behave differently from conventional balconies, so cabin research matters more than the category name.
Who Will Love Ascent?
Ascent fits couples, friends, food-focused travelers, and suite guests seeking polished service without traditional formality. It is less suitable for families whose children expect waterparks or go-karts.
Ben’s Honest Take
Ascent is a particularly complete Edge-series ship and may be a smarter value than Xcel when itinerary and cabin pricing align. Decide first whether you want a standard premium cruise, AquaClass wellness extras, or the private Retreat experience.
