Norwegian Luna: A Practical Ship Guide
Explore Norwegian Luna’s Prima Plus design, family attractions, flexible dining, entertainment, cabins, and honest booking considerations.

Updated July 18, 2026.
Norwegian Luna is the second Prima Plus-class ship and a larger evolution of Norwegian Prima and Viva. It combines NCL’s schedule-free vacation style with the Aqua Slidecoaster, expansive outdoor areas, energetic entertainment, and a wide choice of dining. At double occupancy it carries about 3,565 guests—large enough for variety but smaller than the industry’s biggest mega-ships.
What Stands Out on Luna?
The Aqua Slidecoaster uses powered launches to send riders through two waterslide courses. Luna Midway adds carnival-style outdoor games, while the Moon Climber, Glow Court, and game areas broaden the family appeal. Ocean Boulevard, Infinity Beach, and outdoor promenades create valuable connections to the sea.
Entertainment includes ELTON: A Celebration of Elton John, and the ship balances activity with the Mandara Spa, Vibe Beach Club, and quieter bars for adults.
Dining and Accommodations
Choices include Indulge Food Hall, Thai cuisine at Sukhothai, plant-forward Planterie, Italian at Onda by Scarpetta, and NCL staples such as Cagney’s and Le Bistro. Not every venue is included, so dining packages should be evaluated against the restaurants you will actually use.
Accommodations range from solo cabins and standard rooms to family options and The Haven. The three-bedroom duplex Haven suites suit larger luxury groups, while Haven guests receive private facilities and concierge-style service. Standard guests should compare cabin location with proximity to activities and outdoor decks.
Who Is Luna Best For?
Luna fits active families, flexible diners, and mixed groups who dislike assigned schedules. It may frustrate travelers who want most dining and premium experiences bundled into one fare. Popular small venues can fill, especially on sea days.
Ben’s Honest Take
Luna’s appeal is freedom supported by real variety. Budget beyond the base fare, make a few strategic reservations, and leave the remainder open. Compare Luna with Aqua when itinerary or price matters more than having the newest sister ship.
